A lot of parents out there, especially mothers, choose to be the entrepreneurs that they now are because of their families. They could still work at a fulltime job in some big corporation, but that would mean they would lose precious time that could've been directed to their children. For a lot of these parents, it's all about the kids and them not wanting their children to grow up without much presence from their parents. But entrepreneurship is prone to failures, perhaps more prone than any other endeavour out there. Becoming an entrepreneur is always a great risk, similar to how investors risk a lot of money by investing them in certain businesses. The only difference is that when you're risking your money as an entrepreneur, you and you alone are responsible for the fate of your finances. That's why being a businessman clearly isn't for everyone. Everyone can't just take those risks. Parents are more likely to accept those risks, though, in exchange of more time for their kids. But the problem here is that as parents, you can't be a failure. You can't fail at the business and return to the job--that is, if you want to be with your kids. You know what's bad about this? Failure is inevitable. Even parent-entrepreneurs are going to fail at one point. The failures may not be as bad as bringing the whole business down, but not everything will go according to plan. And here's where skillful entrepreneurs really shine. Good entrepreneurs know how to take opportunities from failures. They do not view failures as failures. Instead, they view them as opportunities for learning and as opportunities to take advantage of in order to eventually succeed. When you are an entrepreneur, you got to have the motivation to turn things around. I think parents won't have any shortage when it comes to motivation. They only want the best for their kids.
