If you are a parent of a boy, then you know what types of messes they can make. Most messes usually winds up mostly on them. Boys, it seems, just like to get dirty. Obviously Pig Pen in the Charlie Brown comic strips was not just a figment of Charles Schultz' imagination.

Marie Gelin, founder of Stinky Boyz and the mother of girls, had one of those eye-opening moments in the mid-1990s as she watched her sister struggle to de-stink her sons. Her nephews were sports fanatics but were not so keen on cleaning up and taking showers after their games.

After Gelin had a son of her own, she discovered he would run the water in the bathroom without actually taking a bath. Instead, he was spending his bathroom time playing video games or reading. She knew something had to be done and developed an incentive for boys to take a shower.

She knew that to get a boy to clean up they had to drop one kind of ball and pick up another. So, she invented Stinky Boyz shampoos and body washes that are in containers shaped like baseballs, footballs, basketballs and soccer balls. Containing essential oils and black seed, a strong antioxidant, her line of Stinky Boyz products make boys more inclined to clean up their act.

Gelin knew that when boys do actually get in the shower they use either their dad's soaps or their mother's products. Usually they squirt more around the shower enclosure than they get on themselves - a terrific waste of product and money.

She began marketing her Stinky Boyz line to parents as well as coaches, adults most familiar with boys and their less-than-hygienic tendencies. She has even heard from teachers who thank her for their sweeter-smelling classrooms. Since its launch, her company has sold more than 1,000 units of her Stinky Boyz products.
