Time management is one of those difficult things that entrepreneurs have to deal with if they want to be successful at what they do. Managing the business, (perhaps) attending school, and looking after a family all at the same time can be very difficult if the entrepreneur is not used to this kind of pressure. Effective time management sometimes mean the difference between a good business strategy and a bad business strategy.
Business owners usually deal with this problem by identifying their goals and pushing their schedule to meet these goals. While on the onset this sounds like a good idea, in the end you might find yourself worrying after your poor health condition. What you need right now is to prioritize your goals and devise a plan. This is old school knowledge and yet a lot of people fall down because they are unable to manage their time as well. In this case, you will have to assess your time management skills and find out if you are doing anything productive. I must admit that I am having very difficult problems dealing with time management. There's just too many distractions available and it's sometimes difficult to ward them off. Fortunately, we have a host of other time-tested tips available in case the ones mentioned above fails. Actually you just have to build on the abovementioned tips to create a time management plan that is more effective. You can start out by pulling out a list and determining at least five tasks that you think you can accomplish by the next day. Once you've chosen these five, forget your other tasks for a while and devise a plan when you think you can accomplish these chosen chores. Think about possible emergency scenarios that may hinder you from fulfilling them and devise an alternative plan. Just remember that things don't go always as expected. Be prepared for surprises and remember that your to-do list will only serve as a blueprint of your actual schedule.
